How do you generate a QR code?

For medicinal products that are only used by professionals, it will no longer be necessary to include a package insert in the future, provided that a 2-dimensional barcode (e.g., QR code) is printed on the outer packaging.

For already approved products, a QR code can be generated and downloaded via ref-data for each package size.

However, this is not possible for medicinal products in the initial approval process, as the QR code can only be generated via ref-data after the approval decision has been made. At the time of the preliminary approval decision, when final packaging materials are being submitted in response, the GTIN based on the approval number and package code is already known. This can be used to generate the QR code using any tool for creating QR codes.
